Advisory For Prevention Of Chikungunya Continues Skinremediess.blogspot.com

  The Ministry of NHS (NIH) has issued advisory for the prevention and control of chikungunya viral infection in the country. It started by pointing towards the chikungunya outbreak in Karachi and elsewhere, saying the disease invasive to many parts of the country was identical as with dengue fever, which appears four to eight days after a mosquito bite. Potentially delayed onset, duration 2–12 days (viremia may last up to 7 days following symptom onset. In the case of chikungunya, the transmission to man is made possible by Aedes mosquitoes like Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus which are found to be day vectors. However, though there is risk, most transmission occurs during or after the rainy season in summer. Few documented cases of miscarriage after maternal infection with chikungunya virus, and no evidence that the virus is transmitted through breast milk.
